Design Proposal – Batu Ferringhi Information Centre
Based on the opted site, conduct a site analysis and
gather all required information (refer Site Inventory &
Analysis)

You are required to  propose a design of Batu Ferringhi
Information Centre on the selected site
Design MUST have a concept
and our concept of information centre is NUCLEUS
Design a single‐storey information centre with a floor
area not exceeding 200 square meters (you are free to
choose any dimension)

we are get inspired from the function and the structure of nucleus of the cell..
based on the function of the nucleus of the cell
that is the centre that control the activity of the cell..
suitable on the function of our information centre is to control the activity of BATU FERINGGHI

the sketching and the first idea of our information centre..

PROJECT 9a (cont.):
Design Proposal – Batu Ferringhi Information Centre
You must ensure that the design consists of only 3 basic spaces:
lobby (reception, sales area & waiting area), exhibition space and
toilet.
(But students are ALLOWED to introduce other exterior spaces like
patio, verandah, terrace etc. in the design).

PROJECT 9C:
CONCEPTUAL MODEL
Based on the design and dimensions of your Information
Centre (Project 9a), build its CONCEPTUAL MODEL in
1:50 scale. Submission requirement:
MODEL BASE: A1 Size Hardboard or Plywood
MATERIAL: anything suitable
COLOUR: monochrome

and this is our model of information centre..

PROJECT 8

before this in project 7,skyway design we are only had an experience to do the site visit at around HBP building only..
in this project we are given a chance to do the site visit at BATU FERINGGHI

progress or our work..
sketching and trace the key plan, location palan of BATU FERINGGHI

and we are given a task to survey on the 5 spot of places for our next project..

progress of the board 2

done the presentation board 1

THE END OF PROJECT 8

and to be continued for project 9 :)

PROJECT 7

OUR FIRST TASK..
Analyse the ‘HBP SITE’ with all its existing buildings and surrounding
The site analysis should consist of:
‐ Location (Key Plan, Location Plan & Site Plan – not to scale)
‐ Sun Orientation and Prevailing Wind
‐ Vegetation and Views
‐ Circulation (Vehicular & Pedestrian)
All of these analyses should be drawn graphically on one HBP Site
Plan (A3 size). Photos/sketches can be added next to the ‘Analysed
Site Plan’ to show the interesting or important parts of the site.
All of the Key Plan, Location Plan, Analysed Site Plan and
Photos/Sketches should be composed in one A2 size catridge
paper (on board)

Medium: Pen Ink, Pencil Colour/Watercolour/Marker & Photos)

and this is my group masterpiece ..

FOR OUR SECOND TASK,
Based on your site analysis (best view, circulation, vegetation
etc), determine the most suitable HBP buildings to be linked by
HBP Skyway (that can protect us from the rain), either:
i) Interlink 1: HBP Main Office (E49) and Resource Centre (E40)
or
ii) Interlink 2: Lecture Hall (E48) and Studio Building (E08)
Then, design an outstanding structure (and façade) of the
skyway that can be a ‘landmark’ by itself
Draw the presentation drawings of the skyway in one A2 size
catridge papers (on board), which consists of Plan, Front
Elevation, Rear Elevation and Side Elevations in 1:75 scale.

AND for our group,WE CHOOSE INTERLINK 1

Medium : Pen Ink and Pencil Colour/Watercolour/Marker

this is the blueprint of our skyway..

AND LASTLY,FOR OUR THIRD TASK,

Based on the design and dimensions of your HBP Skyway
(Project 7B), build its STRUCTURAL MODEL in 1:50 scale.

Medium : Model Base: A3 Size Hardboard or Plywood
Structural Model: Cardboard / Perspex / or
Balsa Wood (relatively expensive)

and this is our structure model of the skyway for interlink 1

THE END OF PROJECT 7

PROJECT 6

from the project 6 over view..we are given a task to analyse and summarize our own role..
such as me in the construction process according to RIBA plan of work 2007..
so that we are more understand about our role in some construction work..

and this is my masterpiece and my masterpiece had been choosen to show at the drum on the exhibition day at drum HBP

THE END OF PROJECT 6

PROJECT 5

referred to the last project..
Based on Project 4A, students are required to produce plan and elevations (front, right, left
and rear) drawings.  The drawings should be coloured based on the sculpture model.
Drawings should be in A3 size and 1:4 scales.

and
Students are also required to produce coloured axonometric drawing based on the
sculpture model produced.

we are given the task to draw blue print from our last sculpture :)

ar haris told us that the blueprint presentation is important beside the model to convince and make the best presentation to our client in the future :)

Medium
A3 Cartridge & Board / Ink Pen / Pencil /Water Colour / Pencil Colour
and i choose pencil colour, drawing pen as my medium for this blueprint.

this is my axonometric view of my sculpture..i use 30 degree to draw this view..

below is my front, back, right left and plan view of my past sculpture...
